Lion’s Gate

I “woke up” during Lion’s Gate.

What I mean by that is I became aware that I was connected to Spirit during the time when the Lion’s Gate portal was open, so this time of year always feels significant to me. I didn’t realise it at the time, of course, I just knew I was suddenly “awake” but I realised afterwards that my awakening occurred during Lion’s Gate.

What exactly is Lion’s Gate?

Lion’s Gate is when Sirius lines up with the Earth, resulting in increased energy being projected down to Earth. It is celebrated on the 8th August (i.e. 8/8 - the eighth day of the eighth month) but the energies are in play from July 26 to August 12.

The Sun is our physical sun and lights up the Earth, thus giving life to Earth and all beings on her. Sirius is known as our Spiritual Sun. It lights up our Spiritual side and it’s during this time that there can be sudden spiritual awakenings (like mine), the opening up of blocked chakras, visitations from non-physical beings, vivid dreaming and information coming through from our Higher Self and/or Spirit Guides.

Manifestation and love

This is a powerful time for manifestation as the Lion’s Gate is focused on abundance and fertility. It’s also a time of deep love, for self and for others, and can be a time of attracting in new partners and enhancing relationships already in our lives. Leo is ruled by the heart so this can be an intense time of love for some, or can encourage others to more fully step into their power.

A catalyst for change

Lion’s Gate also acts as a catalyst for change. It’s prompting us to step more fully into our selves and our lives. Sometimes this can be destructive and it can feel tumultuous, but the destruction is in order to clear the way for new creation. Very much like the Tower card in Tarot, where something needs to be broken down in order to be rebuilt anew. In a nutshell it’s a loving energy that creates change.

Be prepared for new understandings, realisations and decisions to be made that may affect your future in some way. If you look back over previous years, you may be able to see changes, decisions, moves, break-ups and other significant actions or events that have taken place during this time. It can shift our consciousness to a new plane and helps us to evolve and ascend.

A new moon as well

This year (2021) Lion’s Gate also coincides with the new moon in Leo. New moons are about starting something new, beginnings, growth and development. This means that this year’s Lion’s Gate is particularly potent for manifestation and beginning something new. Now would be the time to envision the life you want to live. Make your vision so big that it’s scary! Don’t stay small. As they say, if it’s not scary, it’s not big enough.

Numbers

Eight is the number of wealth and prosperity in numerology. It also indicates power and balance. When you lie an eight on its side it becomes the infinity symbol. As such, the 8/8 is a day full of infinite abundance and is a great day to focus on manifesting your dreams and desires, whatever they may be.

Taking action

If you feel called to, you could write down what you want to release and let go of, what cycles you want to break and beliefs you want to leave behind. Then write down everything you want to bring into your life, the goals you want to achieve, the relationships you want to have and the way you want to be as we move forward from this Lion’s Gate portal.

Lion’s Gate is a time of acceleration and ascension. To make the most of it we need to know what we want from life and where we want to go. Have a think about this as we move through this portal. It’s time to be who you are.
