Many women struggle through menopause, some not even realising the symptoms they experience are caused by this life stage, but there is help at hand.
Qualified midlife and menopause coach Kàren Maggs guides women through changes in their life including perimenopause and menopause with information, coaching and strategies to ease the path.

Kàren is an experienced Beautiful You Coaching Academy qualified mid-life coach, My Menopause Transformation Practitioner and is completing training to become a qualified Menopause Doula with Doula Training Canada.
She combines her expertise from all areas to coach women in their 40s to 60s and beyond, through both menopause and the big changes they are often making at this time in their life.
It’s more than just physical
Kàren explains that the process of perimenopause and menopause is more than physical, and also involves a change in mindset around purpose and direction.
“This prepares us for the next phase, our wise woman years where, after years of caring for others, we are able to focus on ourselves and what brings us joy and purpose.”
“My approach is to educate women about what they are going through, looking at the whole person rather than just the physiological side of the hormone changes.”
Kàren is particularly passionate about helping women to realise their potential.
“In Western society women seem to somehow disappear after midlife, but I’m on a mission to change that concept. This is actually when we have the most power and ambition.”
Your Second Spring
Kàren prefers the Traditional Chinese Medicine concept where the time after menopause is known as the Second Spring, a time of renewal, rebirth, and stepping into our wisdom and power.
“It’s a time for women to find new passions and enjoy life with vitality and enthusiasm.”
Kàren Maggs Coaching offers a variety of life and menopause coaching packages for women. These include a three- or six-month coaching series, a menopause discussion group which offers a safe space to learn and share with others, and a retreat day where clients take a breather from daily life, nurture themselves and learn about this special time of life transition.
“I get such a thrill out of guiding women through what are often difficult times and seeing them bloom and blossom into the vital and happy women they can be,” says Kàren.
What are the common symptoms of perimenopause and menopause?
All women experience this change. Symptoms vary and are not always obvious but can include broken sleep, hot flushes, mood swings, tearfulness, brain fog, anxiety, depression, vaginal dryness, weight gain. What is a menopause coach or doula?
A menopause doula is someone who is trained to educate, advise, and guide women going through perimenopause and menopause. The training includes an integrated approach to understand the whole body including the psychological and physical effects of this life stage and how women can ease the journey.
How can a midlife or menopause coach help me?
A coach will listen to what you are experiencing, provide support and help you to come up with strategies to manage menopause and other midlife issues. Coaches offer various programmes to suit clients’ needs. A coach will be with you on the journey as a support person and educator while guiding you through to your Second Spring and post menopause life.
